“I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.” Psalm 34:1 NIV
Dear Lord Heavening Father, Almighty, All Powerful. This morning I come to you in group prayer as we all touch and agree... Today is a new day, today is the day we all take head to your rightful command to Praise You. Please whisper into each of our ears, hold our hands and give us the strength to let go of these comfort zones of fear, worries, doubts and grasp instead your wonderful Glory, Might, Power, Grace, Mercy and Love!!! Thank You Lord, Hallelujah!!!
Did you know the subject of praise and worship is a major theme throughout the Bible. Scriptures seem to pulsate with the heartbeat of praise, Thanksgiving and worship. As you read them can't you see the dancing, the joy, even smell the happiness!!! I CAN, and YOU CAN TOO!! Thank You Lord!! Hallelujah!!!!
One book of the Bible the book of Psalms radiates Gods praise from above all other portions of Scripture. The Hebrew Bible appropriately titled it, "the Book of Tehillim" which means The Book of Praises. While there are several words translated to praise or worship in the Old Testament; the word that I want to talk about today is TEHILLAH. The root of the word enables us to better understand the idea of praise. The verb is halal, having a range of meanings. It includes celebrating, causing to shine, making splendorous, praising, reveling, spinning wildly, and making someone or something bright, famous, or renewed. Wow all right.
The king James translates this word with a variety of English words, which include commend, glory, praise, celebrate, boast and shine. the most universally recognized example of the verb halal is in the command Hallelujah which is an imperative -- that is, an order and means, "All of You must praise Yah!" Halal occurs more than 70 times in the book of Psalms alone. WOW, a command!!!
Well when you break it down all the commandments are to keep us, healthy, happy, safe, and able to be in His Presence... So then what. The command to Praise His Holy name, Hallelujah!! Through Praise we gain everything, so no wonder Father God is commanding this, again another show of His Great Love for us. In business we have a saying, "keep it simple stupid". Don't you think this is simple, His commands are simple, basic list of don't be stupid, it is simple follow these and LIVE!!! You have to stop and really look at the entire context of the Bible, it's beauty, it's order, it's strategies for success, warnings, messages of peace and mighty power. I believe, from being a Christain almost my entire life (so maybe these words are accurate, at least my veiw); Christians are missing out!! Missing the most important messages in the Word. And only somewhat living, wouldn't you rather live Whole, totally what God wants for you? Start to change that today, take the command to heart and PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME, Smile, be Thankful in all things ... And watch what happens. Don't let people, the enemy, your own worries and negative tapes playing steal your Joy. Stop, it is within your power to make that choice, so start today, power up on Him!! His love, His Promises, His Powerful Joy He is offering you.
Of course there is much to learn, much growth He has for us, for YOU!! Let's keep it simple shall we, Just Do It!
“I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” Psalm 34:1-8 NIV
