It is an interesting time we are in it seems. To me it is a time that is highlighting that we are stuck in time - we are not maturing, we are staying children as the Bible calls it. Emotionally, and Spiritually Children. There are many days I would like to pretend it isn't true. I simply can not understand how we, largely intelligent, loving and a kind nation can be so hateful. How can we bury our heads and allow hate from within our own walls. Of course I am speaking of the heinous acts of the KKK, and what is worse; all of us somehow turning a blind eye. Calling it freedom of speech.
Shouldn't we do some self examination for heavens sake, freedom of speech was meant to allow expression of differences; however in love, albeit religion, or a place of passion - to do so without prejudice; with the caveat that it isn't at the expense of others. That is the key - expressing hate of one another is not what our Founders Meant! They meant :: You can have your rights, if it does't take rights away from others. That is simple.
So allowing persons to practice hate, within the walls of our own nation - is simply unacceptable! Of course we want to see ourselves as the world police, running around and taking care of bullies. Well what about our own bullies? Shouldn't we take care of home first, before we go and try to take care of others,
So why are we doing this, how are we tolerating it, why are we so apathetic ??? Today this morning, please lets all pray. Let's pray for Leadership, true leadership. Not twitter-ship, or bully-ship, authority-ship or talk-talk-talk-ship. I am talking about Leadership. It is true you can have an influence - but I am referring to a specific form of influence. Leadership.
Esther is the title of this message because she is an inspiration to me, and should be to all of us today. Many many reasons, and I am sure in her story and her circumstances you will find a parallel to your own life and be inspired.
Let me start by in her time, she didn't have any rights. No voice, No right to an education much less an opinion. She wasn't granted the opportunity to show her capabilities. She simply got selected because of her beauty. She was an orphan, she didn't have some birth right or reason to be selected. No right to it. She wasn't entitled.
To me I identify with her there. Because yes, you can make the argument that society has come a long way and woman have rights. Persons of color have rights. But Do We? Do we really?
Isn't it more true that we are lazy. We do not want to have a fight, or to upset the apple cart. Can we ask ourselves, do we have rights when we are not willing to make sure we all have the same rights. Said differently, if the KKK was taking something from you. Threatening your family how would you react. Well regardless of your color, sex, national origin ::: they ARE threatening you. They are taking our freedoms and peace of mind away. Not just them, they are simply the easy big red target. People we need to think about doing the right things.
If Esther sat back, didn't listen to God, wasn't willing to potentially be shunned or embarrassed her nation (the Nation of Israel) would have perished. I believe the American Nation is at risk of perishing. Everything we were founded on has been eroded, manipulated, painted different colors, spun in different ways; just an effort to keep us all fighting. The easiest way to take freedom away from anyone or any group is to create discord.
Today, let us Pray for leadership. For leadership to be nurtured in all of us - so those seeds that are born within us and watered when we except Christ can Grow!
The book of Esther recounts a fascinating story filled with intrigue and suspense. It has villains, heroes , dastardly deeds and a great rescue. The villain gets his due and the "good guys" win. Truth, in this case, is far better than fiction. And the truth is that one YOUNG WOMAN, seemingly a pawn in this great story acted as God's carefully placed servant who quietly exerted her leadership and change the course of history. In a culture in which women did not rule, we find in Ester a woman of enormous influence. With God's help, she saved her nation from extinction.
Here is a quick plot summary: The Persian King Xerxes selected Esther as his queen. After a series of unjust events. Haman, a sinister official in Xerxes's court, hatched a plan that resulted in a decree to execute all of the Jews in the Persian empire. So, it short, the Messianic line was in danger of extinction, and God's people were powerless to defend themselves. In God's providence, only one person could gain an audience with the king to dissuade him from this tragic slaughter.
The young woman, Esther, held the fate of of history in her hands, BUT to act could cost her her life ((Ester 4:9-11). She had everything to lose, everything.
She chose what we all need to chose. To simply do the right thing!
You are not supposed to think opposite from the Spirit. When you lose your vision of winning lost souls for God, then are you no longer thinking like the Holy spirit - you are think like yourself. [ or thinking for yourself selfishly]
That which is born of the Spirit is spirit. You are suppose to have the same kind of vision that the Holy Spirit has, the same kind of compassion and faithfulness that the Lord Jesus Christ Himself had, because you have the same spirit in you that He had in Him.
If the Spirit of god is in your heart, then you will be moved to hare Jesus with others. If you have not been doing that, then it's time to begin. You can do it. God's Power is available to you to save people or heal them or do anything else that needs to be done for them.
The Word Bible
What is interesting here is we all know this, read it, or at least become aware of this teaching. Yet somehow we dismiss it. As if it was not written for us. Example, "I am not a missionary, I am not a Pastor, this is therefore not for me". That is not the case. We have everyday opportunities to show our spirit and heal people. Even in the smallest and simplest ways we can have an affect on others - WE CAN INFLUENCE!
NO EARTHLY COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF IS GOING TO ISSUE MILITARY ORDER OR GIVE ASSIGNMENTS WITHOUT GIVING THE AUTHORITY TO CARRY THEM OUT, The fact that he/she has given those duties and responsibilities to men/women under him/her means that the authority to carry them out is inherent to the orders.
If earthly commanders wound not expect an order to be carried out without authority, how much more would not our heavenly Commander-in-Chief expect it? Without the authority to carry them out, orders are not worth much more than the paper on which they are written. Without the Authority of God, the authority of the believer would be useless. Jesus Gave The Authority! You exercise that authority in obedience. God supplies the power and the ability. Luke 10:19
