INTRODUCTION & PREPARATION
Rejections can create a number of other conditions, largely insecurities that can undermine your soul. I am not just referring to a feeling of rejection, feeling a victim of something, sad, defeated, hurt, un-loved... you get the drift. That list is very long.
This morning I am focusing in on the DEEP rejection that derails our entire mindset - and - most importantly my Victory, collectively our Victory through Christ. This is a very common one that I personally struggled with and am now freed from Thank You Lord, is an identity crisis - blended with a false since of what love and acceptance actually is. I therefore, did not love myself as I should have, I lowered my standards to make sure I was loved.
This can lead to a mis-guided decision matrix, belief systems that are not fact based and instead are emotionally based. This is a core issue of weakness in many of our lives. In fact it can be so deep, it can go undetected. Ask yourself, are you extremely protective, do you get offended easily, or are so performance based that you also may judge others. Oh you will still go fix, do, and love on others, but you are doing it because - wow you cant believe they did it again. That stupid repeat that You Know of and You somehow are bigger than. You might not realize it but, others are feeling your condemnation - that is the other side of your hurt - a spirit of rejection leaves us feeling condemned. So we try to measure up, try to make sure everyone loves us, we are over preforming everywhere, and yes we are harsh and we judge.
For me it started when I was a small child. My uncle was you guessed it inappropriate; when I approached my parents the words were oh that is just how your uncle is. You are over reacting, that is normal.
Many other areas confirmed these emotions, like perfect grades and no accolades, sports achievements and zero attendance, being forgotten at school or any number of different things. Watching the over praising of others that to my surprise did nothing, other than perhaps got into less trouble than last time. No achievements got their love - so they must just not love me. Just confirming things. Now for me, I did not become a victim, I became a fighter, I buried all of that however it affected the decisions I made for nearly my entire life. I did have an event when my daughter was young, He showed up and it triggered it all back like a flood gate. Of course then I had to deal with the affects within the family, as the news spread. But what did not happen is any healing, it only strengthened my resolve as to my independence. Drawing my strength and security from myself, it wasn't until very recently after the loss of my Mother, lost wealth, lost my entire family as I knew it and massive betrayal was revealed.
Our Father God wants nothing more than to release You from that bondage, from our pains, from our sins to be there for us in pure Love. Here is the best part of all - once you are on the other side and released. All of that pain, changes and the beautiful painting the Lord has been working on, refining you during those challenging and hurtful times. So lets do this -
When you are thrown into an identity crisis or finally realize that is what happened/happening and you cry out to the Lord for help; you have an opportunity to erase old tapes that have played in your mind for a long time and replace those self-destructive thoughts with God thoughts. God is Great
Remember Your heavenly Father saw you and approved of you even while you were in your mothers womb Psalm 139:13-16. He gave you several tools that would bring you to the place where you are today. He is a Father who has been waiting for you to come home to the truth-the truth that will set you free John 8:32.
Future rejection may hurt, but it will only be for a season 1 Peter 1:6. And Ecclesiastes 3:1. The Word of God is your shield against all the fiery darts of the devil Ephesians 6:16, 17. For victory over your feeling of rejection, pray the following prayer in faith and with a Joyful Spirit.
Read the below verses, ponder on them and let them settle into your heart; then Pray this Prayer for Your Totally Victory over Rejection! Praise God!
Lord, Your Son, Jesus, is my high priest. He understands and sympathizes with my weaknesses and this excruciating pain of rejection. In His Name I approach Your throne of grace with confidence, so that I may receive mercy and find grace to help me in my time of need. I ask You to forgive my sins, I receive Your mercy; I expect Your healing Grace to dispel the rejection I am suffering because of false accusations and demeaning actions of another.
Father, Jesus was despised and rejected -A man of sorrows, acquainted with the bitterest grief. The grief of-----turning against me and treating me as an outcast is consuming me, just as my rejection consumed Your son, who freely gave his life for me.
Forgive me for turning my back on Jesus and looking the other way-he was despised and I didn't care. Yet it was my grief HE bore, my sorrows that weighed HIM down. He was wounded and bruised for my sins. He was beaten that I might have peace; He was latched, and with His stripes I AM healed.
In the face of rejection I will declare, "the Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear or dread? The Lord is the refuge and stronghold of my life-of whom I shall be afraid ? "Psalm 27:1 amplified version
I know right from wrong and cherish Your laws in my heart; I won't be afraid of people scorn or their slanderous talk. Slanderous talk is temporal and fades away. Your Words will never pass away. Father, I choose to look at things that are Eternal: Your justice and mercy shall last forever, and Your salvation from generation to generation.
Your eyes are upon me, for I have right standing with You, and Your ears are attentive to my prayer. You spoke to me and asked, "Now who is going to hurt you if you are a zealous follower of that which is good? "
In my heart I set Christ apart as a Holy, and I acknowledge Him, as Lord. I am always ready to give a logical defense to anyone who asks me to account for the hope that is in me, but I do it very courteously and respectfully. I purpose, to see to it that, my conscience is entirely clear, I WILL NOT BE impaired, so that when I am falsely accused as an evil doer, those who threaten me about abusively and rival my right behavior in Christ may come to be ashamed of slandering my good life.
There is wonderful joy ahead, even though the going is rough for a while down here. These trials are only to test my faith, and chastening as to my character, to see whether it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire test gold and purifies it-and my flesh is far more precious to you, Lord, then we are gold; so if my faith remain strong after being tried and test tube in the fiery trials, it will bring much praise and glory and honor on the day of Jesus's return.
In spite of the rejection, I have experienced, I declare everything you say about me in your word is true:
- I am blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Ephesians 1:3.

Hebrews 4:14-16; Isaiah 53:3-5; 2 Corinthians 4:18; Isaiah 51:7, 8; 1 Peter 3:12-17 amplified; 1 Peter 1:6, 7
“Inasmuch then as we have a great High Priest Who has [already] ascended and passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith in Him]. For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning. Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].”
Hebrews 4:14-16 AMPC
“He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness; and like One from Whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him. Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. [Matt. 8:17.] But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.”
Isaiah 53:3-5 AMPC
“Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting.”
2 Corinthians 4:18 AMPC
“Listen to Me, you who know rightness and justice and right standing with God, the people in whose heart is My law and My instruction: fear not the reproach of men, neither be afraid nor dismayed at their revilings. For [in comparison with the Lord they are so weak that things as insignificant as] the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool. But My rightness and justice [and faithfully fulfilled promise] shall be forever, and My salvation to all generations.”
Isaiah 51:7-8 AMPC
“Conduct yourselves properly (honorably, righteously) among the Gentiles, so that, although they may slander you as evildoers, [yet] they may by witnessing your good deeds [come to] glorify God in the day of inspection [when God shall look upon you wanderers as a pastor or shepherd looks over his flock]. Be submissive to every human institution and authority for the sake of the Lord, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, Or to governors as sent by him to bring vengeance (punishment, justice) to those who do wrong and to encourage those who do good service. For it is God's will and intention that by doing right [your good and honest lives] should silence (muzzle, gag) the ignorant charges and ill-informed criticisms of foolish persons. [Live] as free people, [yet] without employing your freedom as a pretext for wickedness; but [live at all times] as servants of God. Show respect for all men [treat them honorably]. Love the brotherhood (the Christian fraternity of which Christ is the Head). Reverence God. Honor the emperor.”
1 Peter 2:12-17 AMPC
“Now the value is for you who keep trusting; but for those who do not trust, “The stone which the builders rejected— this One has become the chief cornerstone,” and “a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.” They stumble because they are disobeying the word—to this they were also appointed.”
1 Peter 2:7-8 TLV
Father, I thank You for that entrance of Your Words, for their unfolding giving me light and understanding. Psalm 119:130. I thank You that Your Word, which You speak (and to which I have put to heart and speak out loud Today), is alive and Full of Power – making it active, operative, energizing, and effective. It is sharper than a two edged sword, able to penetrate an complete being, reaching as far as the soul is from the spirit. HEBREWS 4:12 I thank You Father, that You have given me a spirit, of Power, Love, of Calm and Well-balanced mind with discipline and self-control. Thank You for Your sound judgement, and equipping of my spirit to prosper and provide resources for Your temple Lord. Thank You again that You have NOT made me to be a coward, that You have removed fear from me, protected and paved my paths strong with Your Word. 2 TIMOTHY 1:7 I have Your Power and Ability and Sufficiency, for You have qualified me (making me be fit and worth and sufficient) as a minister and dispenser of a new covenant [ the covenant of salvation through Christ]. Through obedience Your guiding me Holy Spirit, through Grace and the Blood of the Lamb I am worthy. Thank You Lord for Your beautiful and perfect Word. Thank You for freeing my from my guilt, freeing all believers from their guilt which sets us apart for Gods Purpose! As we say in gist glass half empty or glass half full, depicting a negative spirit or a positive spirit. Let us also focus on overflowing – for full is only measuring what can be contained – overflowing is the measurement that You promise us and cannot be measured – only to say Over Flowing. meaning more than enough and never an end! – Thank You Lord!! 2 CORINTHIANS 3:5-6
In the name of Jesus, I walk out of the realm of failure, out of the realm where evil that has had hold, and into the area of success, giving thanks to You, Father, for You have qualified and made me, and made me fit to share the portion that is the inheritance of the saints [God’s Holy People] in Your light.
Today Lord I am asking [specifically asking as it says in Your Perfect Word] that You will fill me with the knowledge of Your Will in all spiritual wisdom [with insight into His purposes], and in understanding [of spiritual things], so that I will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord [displaying admirable character, moral courage, and personal integrity], to [fully] please You Lord in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing in the knowledge of God [with deeper faith, clearer insight and fervent love for His precepts]; I pray that I may be strengthened and invigorated with all power, according to Your glorious might, to attain every kind of endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to You Father, who has qualified all of us to share in the inheritance of the saints (God’s people). For You have rescued me and You have drawn me closer to You and FROM the dominion of darkness, and You have transferred me to the kingdom of Your beloved Son, in whom we have redemption [because of His sacrifice, resulting in] the forgiveness of our sins [and the cancellation of sins’ penalty], in Whom there is Good success, and freedom from fears, agitating passions, and moral conflicts. I Rejoice in Jesus Who has come that I might have life and have it more abundantly. COLOSSIANS 1:9-14
Today, I am a new creation, for I am, Engrafted, in Christ, the Messiah. The old prideful, stubborn, self-focused, and self-realized person (my previous moral and spiritual condition) has passed away. Behold, the fresh is gone and new has come! I forget those things that are behind me, and reach forth unto those things that are before me. Thank You for washing my sins and setting my guilt free, thank You for giving me the heart to forgive others as well as myself. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I Live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me. Because with the spiritual awakening you have given and made me, I AM NEW. Thank you Lord. 2 CORINTHIANS 5:17
Today I attend to the Word of God. I consent and submit to Your sayings, Father. Your Words shall not depart from my sight; I will keep them in the midst of my heart. For they are life [success] to me, healing and health to all my flesh. I keep my heart with the all vigilance, and above all, that I guard; for out of it flow the springs of life. Abundance and overflowing, the measurement that only You Lord can provide, thank you Lord!! JOHN 10:10
Not that I have already obtained this goal of being Christ-like or have already been made perfect, but I actively press on so that I may take hold of that [perfection] for which Christ Jesus took hold of me and made me His own. I do not consider that I have made it my own, in fact I relinquish my flesh as my old self tried to actually achieve results on my own; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. All of us who are mature [pursuing spiritual perfection] should have this attitude. PHILIPPIANS 3:12-16
For through the Law I died to the Law and its demands on me died, I NO LONGER have the pains of Performance Based Love, and acceptance based on the law and/or other people perception thereof; because salvation is provided through the death and resurrection of Christ, so that from now on live to God. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. I do not ignore or nullify the [gracious gift of the] grace of God [His amazing, unmerited favor], for if righteousness comes through [observing] the Law, then Christ died needlessly. [His suffering and death would have had no purpose whatsoever.] Thank you Lord, To God Be the Glory . Thank you Lord for Your Grace, thank You Lord for this deliverance!! GALATIANS 2:19-21
Today I will not let mercy and kindness and truth leave me, instead Holy Spirit help make these qualities define me; Bind them [securely] around my neck, Write them on the tablet of my heart. So that I might find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man PROVERBS 3:3-4
Now Today, thank You for Your Blessings, for making me fortunate, prosperous, and in Your favor; thank You for removing counsel of the wicked. Thank you for making me like a tree firmly planted [and fed] by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season; Its leaf does not wither; And in whatever I do, I prosper and comes to my full maturity.
Today, let me say Thanks be to God, let each of us praying this prayer give thanks, touch and agree; the Lord always leads us in triumph through Christ, and through us spreads and makes evident everywhere the sweet fragrance of the knowledge of Him. For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which ascends] to God, Thank You for giving me the aroma from life to life a vital fragrance, living and fresh. And for making ME adequate and sufficiently qualified for these things that you have put on my spiritual plate, my household and natural plate, and professional plate. Thank You for forming the pure [uncompromising] motives in my heart.
2 CORINTHIANS 2:14-17

“The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.”
Psalm 119:130 NIV
“For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
HEBREWS 4:12 AMP
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].”
2 TIMOTHY 1:7 AMP
“Not that we are sufficiently qualified in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency and qualifications come from God. He has qualified us [making us sufficient] as ministers of a new covenant [of salvation through Christ], not of the letter [of a written code] but of the Spirit; for the letter [of the Law] kills [by revealing sin and demanding obedience], but the Spirit gives life.”
2 CORINTHIANS 3:5-6 AMP
“For if the ministry that brings condemnation [the old covenant, the Law] has glory, how much more does glory overflow in the ministry that brings righteousness [the new covenant which declares believers free of guilt and sets them apart for God’s special purpose]!”
2 CORINTHIANS 3:9 AMP
“For this reason, since the day we heard about it, we have not stopped praying for you, asking [specifically] that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [with insight into His purposes], and in understanding [of spiritual things], so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord [displaying admirable character, moral courage, and personal integrity], to [fully] please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing in the knowledge of God [with deeper faith, clearer insight and fervent love for His precepts]; [we pray that you may be] strengthened and invigorated with all power, according to His glorious might, to attain every kind of endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints (God’s people) in the Light. COLOSSIANS 1:9-14 AMP
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].”

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have made it my own yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. All of us who are mature [pursuing spiritual perfection] should have this attitude. And if in any respect you have a different attitude, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us stay true to what we have already attained.”
PHILIPPIANS 3:12-16 AMP
“For through the Law I died to the Law and its demands on me [because salvation is provided through the death and resurrection of Christ], so that I might [from now on] live to God. GALATIANS 2:19-21 AMP
“My son, pay attention to my words and be willing to learn; Open your ears to my sayings. Do not let them escape from your sight; Keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, And healing and health to all their flesh. Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.”
PROVERBS 4:20-23 AMP
“Do not let mercy and kindness and truth leave you [instead let these qualities define you]; Bind them [securely] around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart. So find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.”
PROVERBS 3:3-4 AMP
“Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked [following their advice and example], Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit [down to rest] in the seat of scoffers (ridiculers). But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And on His law [His precepts and teachings] he [habitually] meditates day and night. And he will be like a tree firmly planted [and fed] by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season; Its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers [and comes to maturity].”
PSALM 1:1-3 AMP
“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us spreads and makes evident everywhere the sweet fragrance of the knowledge of Him. For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which ascends] to God, [discernible both] among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; to the latter one an aroma from death to death [a fatal, offensive odor], but to the other an aroma from life to life [a vital fragrance, living and fresh]. And who is adequate and sufficiently qualified for these things? For we are not like many, [acting like merchants] peddling God’s word [shortchanging and adulterating God’s message]; but from pure [uncompromised] motives, as [commissioned and sent] from God, we speak [His message] in Christ in the sight of God.”
2 CORINTHIANS 2:14-17 AMP
Today marks the two year anniversary of the day my Mother went home to join our Father in Heaven. This entire week perhaps the entire month I have been irritated or low on tolerance. Yes, I had many other things going on. One in particular a very close person to me, a person I have now discovered I love deeply - I nearly lost him. All of us are blessed for his healing. Thank You Lord! Of course I prayed over him like madness; God blessed us with more time. WOW.
However, not until today did I see the blessings because I had felt myself sinking into a "what about me" little pity-party. Granted I was there, being there for him, doing my best to take care of him before, during and after him being in the Hospital. Still - I didn't realize all of these pint up feelings of abandonment, and emotions of loss, emotions of having no control, having no influence; all of those feelings were rushing in, and mixing in with the fear of losing him. This wow person I had finally found. It hit me today. He is my person now, I have already connected in so many ways, he already totally knows me - and he settles me, loves me, encourages & supports me, he listens to me, advises me, and helps me get centered with God. Everything my Mother did and so much more. What a total blessing - thank you Lord. Thank you!
Darn it I still miss my Mother, as much as she totally drove me crazy, she was my person. The person I could go to, talk to, would settle me and help me get centered with God. Now I know there was so much of her that I didn't know. Oh gosh I want to know, I want to connect, I want closure also. So what are we doing in remembrance of her? What is a person supposed to do to move on from these paralyzing emotions?
How do we get past the past?
I spent a few days in study, thinking, praying, reading and came up with the below Prayer. I have written and published a version of this prayer before. I have modified it for a different kind of loss. For the moving on sort of need, motivation, most importantly :: if we are so caught up in our past, we can never have our NOW. I don't know about you, I want my now, I want that freedom, and I am so thankful scriptures are there to point out how we can have our NOW. The past is the past, no matter what it is, thank you Jesus! The Prayer as well as the scripture references are below.
I pray for you and your family to experience what I have - Total and Complete Release from the Past - Thank You Lord for the Now You Have Blessed Me with!! Remember He created us beings with a free will, we can make choices; scripture makes it clear what Christ did for us so that the past can completely be the past. No Matter What It Is! The rest is up to each of us. Are we going to let go of that past? Are we going accept our forgiveness? Are we going to accept, believe and have that uplifted faithful spirit?
I choose to - I choose to be forgiven, to forgive myself and others, to forgive and even in parts forget the past. To decide the past doesn't have power over me. I choose all the positive and good memories. I choose life. I choose my Now.
Father, I realize my helplessness in saving myself and I glory in Christ Jesus has done for me. I let go - put all aside all passed sources of my confidence - counting them worthless than nothing, in order that I may experience Christ and become one with him.
Lord, I have received Your Son and he has given me the authority power, privilege, and right, to become your child.
I unfold my past and put into proper perspective those things that are behind. I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the son of God, who live loved me and gave himself for me. I trust in you, Lord, with all of my heart and lean not on my own understanding. In all of my ways I acknowledge you, and you will make my paths straight.
I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him and his death, and so, to attain the resurrection from the dead. So, whatever it takes, it will be one who lives in the flash newness of life of those who are alive from the dead.
I don't mean to say that I am perfect. I haven't learned all I should, but I keep working toward that day and I will finally be all that Christ saved me for and wants me to be.
I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: regardless of my past, I look forward to what lies ahead. I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which you are calling me to heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for me.
In his name I pray Amen.
“But whatever things were gain to me, these I have considered as loss for the sake of the Messiah. More than that, I consider all things to be loss in comparison to the surpassing value of the knowledge of Messiah Yeshua my Lord. Because of Him I have suffered the loss of all things; and I consider them garbage in order that I might gain Messiah and be found in Him not having my righteousness derived from Torah, but one that is through trusting in Messiah—the righteousness from God based on trust.”
Philippians 3:7-9 TLV
“But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name–[Isa. 56:5.]”
John 1:12 AMPC
“For day and night Your hand [of displeasure] was heavy upon me; my moisture was turned into the drought of summer. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!”
Psalm 32:4 AMPC
“I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,”
Philippians 3:13 AMPC
“I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”
Galatians 2:20 AMPC
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;”
Proverbs 3:5 NIV
“I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.”
Philippians 3:10-11 NIV
“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.”
Romans 6:4-7 NIV
“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:12-14 NIV
