The Israelite's who left Egypt under Moses never entered Canaan, the land of abundance. Because they couldn't shake off the slave mentality even though they left Egypt! They talked like slaves, they thought like slaves. They lived with the mentality of peasants. They chose stubbornly to stay as Victims and rejected Victory. They doubted their capability to overcome. WOW right - God was so tired of their stubbornness and relentless lack of faith, He had to allow great harm to fall upon them, and allow and entire generation to be taken home.
I have had my days where I was dragging rocks, thought I was in the right, had my heals dug in. In a way for many years of my life, maybe 30 years in fact, I was even proud of my endurance. My pride blinded me to what it really was; relentless stubbornness. I am SO thankful for the drastic events that the Lord allowed in my life, more thankful for the Love and Comfort I received as He birthed a new season in me.
